Reporting to: Executive Directors of the Argyle BIA and Hamilton Road BIA
Position Start Date: January 2024
Position End Date: December 2024
Type of Position: Full Time with Some On Call Work (weekends)
Salary: $50,000
Position Specialties: Conflict Resolution, Background in Security or Police Services


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Security Liaison for Argyle BIA / Hamilton Road BIA
  • Be an on-call, first point of contact for members for all security and community well-being related initiatives provided by the Argyle and Hamilton Road BIA’s
  • Triage the BIA member to available supports through the BIA, London Police Services, Dominion Security or other community supports (ie. London Cares, Community Informed Response Team, and Service London)
  • Follow-up with BIA members to ensure challenges are mitigated and external support and services provided by the social service organizations, City of London or London Police Services are being provided adequately
  • Provide one-to-one support, from start to finish, in their security related issue
  • Advocate on behalf of BIA members to external organizations to receive rightful services that will mediate their challenges under the direction of the Argyle BIA and Hamilton Road BIA
  • Meet with Argyle BIA and Hamilton Road BIA’s on a monthly basis to update on any security related issues
  • Meet with London Police Services, BIA members and any other groups as needed and provide presentations alongside the staff of the Argyle BIA and Hamilton Road BIA
  • Meet with Dominion Security Services on a bi-weekly basis to provide feedback and support
  • Other duties as given by the BIA Executive Director of both BIAs
Educational Resources
  • Present one-to-one coaching to BIA members to respond to homelessness and security concerns in their business and property
  • Assemble an informative package for businesses to address their concerns, challenges and issues they are experiencing or may in the future.
  • Provide assistance and support to access resources available that will addressing their security concerns
  • Mentor business owners in how to address the issues that affect community well-being and who to contact for what service
  • Provide administrative support to BIA members to fill out paperwork related to fortifying their business from future security concerns
Data Collection
  • Provide detailed data to the Executive Directors of the Argyle BIA / Hamilton Road BIA
  • Assist the BIA in interpreting data to tailor programs and services offered in the Community Well-Being programs and utilize the information to provide feedback to London Police Services and Dominion Security Services
  • Data collection and analysis to be provided by an agreed upon deadline to both of the Boards of the BIAs
Qualifications
  • Security and/or Community Police Service background
  • Knowledge on the services available to them through the City of London, the BIA and London Police Services
  • Knowledge on CPTED best practices and how to apply them to real life scenarios and situations
  • Contextual knowledge of East London and the issues affecting business and community well-being
  • Ability to gain contacts with resources that will support businesses in mitigating the challenges they experience
  • Must have a G Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle
