Angel Tree Project
The East Lions Community Centre is generously assisting us by hosting the
Angel Tree for our Santa Snapshot event!
Pluck an angel, or two, and shop for the child described on the tag.
You will be directly supporting local Argyle families, and it’s really fun to go shopping for kids (trust us, we’ve done a lot of it!)
Q: What is an Angel Tree?
A: Angel Trees are decorated with numbered paper Angel Tags with the first name, age and gender of a child in need. Sponsors remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child or children described on the tags.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
1. Go to the East Lions Community Centre (ELCC) from November 3 to 17 and pick an Angel tag from the Tree to sponsor (or two!)
2. Buy present from an Argyle business based on the info that’s written on your Angel tag
*NOTE*
Presents should be around $20-$28
Make sure to hold onto your Angel tag!
3. Give the unwrapped present(s) to an ELCC employee, along with the Angel tag
(you can sign your name or leave your gift as anonymous)
4. The BIA will take care of wrapping and addressing them!
It’s as easy as that!
Thank you for your help in making the holidays a warm and welcoming time for as many families as possible.
We hope to see you and yours at our Santa Celebrates event
We’ll be there with bells on!
How this Project Started:
We were looking for a way to bring back Argyle’s “Breakfast with Santa” event. In the spirit of the old event, we kept a few key components while planning a new one:
Santa, Argyle, giving, and free.
What we came up with was “The Santa Social”.
During the second year of the Santa Social, a mother told us how much she and her family had enjoyed the activities but said that she was not expecting her family to receive such a nice gift at the end. She explained that they were lucky enough to be financially stable and thought the gift would be better given to a family who needed it more.
This gave us the idea to target the event more towards families who might not have the means to get pictures with Santa or wouldn’t receive many gifts during the holiday.
We’ve had lots of folks reach out wanting to get involved with the event but there’s only so much help we need!
We thought that an Angel Tree would be a great way for people to support families in their own community and get involved.
