London’s Hidden Gem: Extreme Indoor Golf

Indoor golf facilities have been on the rise in recent years. While they were once unpopular in the golf community because the technology wasn’t up to par, the industry has made technological advancements which have drastically improved golfers playing experience. Now, golfers can easily experience the feel of a real course without outside distractions. Extreme Indoor Golf is one of the few indoor golf facilities in London. They are well-known among some of the community but may be considered a hidden gem among Londoners.

Leo and Crissy describe their business as London’s best-known secret. This family-run business opened by the fairgrounds with one golf simulator in a small 700 square-foot facility. Back then, there weren’t any indoor golf facilities in London. Their goal was to be London’s best indoor golf facility. Their success in the area led them to expand the business. The pair then welcomed Extreme Indoor Golf to the Argyle area in 2012 with two more simulators. On a regular night, the facilities’ rooms are packed with golf lovers and their buddies either practicing their swing or golfing a world-class course.

“I had a great time here tonight. They accommodated our group of 5 in one of their 4 person rooms which was very helpful. They have a liquor licence and they can serve food here as well. It is a great place holder for real golf when the weather turns Canadian in the wintertime. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating and couldn’t have been nicer. They allow you to warm up and teach you how to use the program while answering any questions you may have. I’m hoping to get back here again this season and I suggest you do the same!!” – Jon Newman

How do golf simulators work?

To put it simply, the simulator projects the golf course onto a screen and the sensors watch the ball connect with the club. The simulator uses mathematical equations to determine the ball’s speed, angle, and distance. You will be able to see your ball’s journey from when you first hit to where it lands on the course. The newly updated technology is accurate up to 10 yards of carry.

The Courses

Extreme Indoor Golf’s courses allow you to experience some of the world’s best golf courses. With the newest version of the aboutGolf systems, you can choose from over 70 different courses. Some of their most popular courses include Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Harbour Town, Bay Harbor, and Pine Needles.

Why try it?

Golf simulators are also great for beginner golfers as they offer a safe place to learn courses without worrying about impatient onlookers. This offers a great opportunity to practice your swing in a judgment-free zone.
“It’s a great way to track and to learn what every club does. It’s amazing to me how many people don’t know their clubs,” said Crissy.

Using the phone app, you can improve your swing by receiving beneficial feedback that you wouldn’t get from practicing or playing outside. One of the biggest appeals to Canadian golfers is the chance to play without needing to check the forecast. It’s a great place for small parties or even corporate events.

“First time there and I am already planning on going back. Friendly staff, easy to follow instructions. The simulator is very realistic and provides great practice between golf seasons.” – Jeff Doupe

The newly upgraded technology comes with popular “bar” games for the non-golfer, such as mini putt, beer pong and darts. Extreme Indoor Golf prides itself on having exceptional customer service with highly trained staff. Book online today at https://extremeindoorgolf.com/home or call 519-601-6625.
